Jovita & Joao
I’ve recently discovered a new city in Europe that’s really worth the journey: Porto. At the north of Portugal, right on the coast, this lovely old city provides a billion possibilities for a photographer.
I met there a lovely couple, Jovita and Joao, who know perfectly the city, and we had a lovely morning documenting their love on a sunny day.
A few words from them:
I guess my instinct is to comment about how amazing the photos look, but I think we’d better focus on the invisible part of the experience.
Exactly the way I did right after Jovita told me “I talked to this Photographer, Louis, about doing a photo shoot here in Porto, I think it would be a great experience and it would be great to have good photos before the wedding”. I thought it was a cool/crazy idea so, imbued with curiosity, the first opportunity I had I checked his portfolio. The pictures are surely there to tell you about the way he captures the world. They introduced me this image of someone outgoing with a fierce open minded dedication to his work.
Gladly, a few months later, I had the opportunity to confirm my opinion. The “ground” experience started early, on the sunrise, with a warm “welcome and good morning” and a “forget the camera exists, this morning you woke up to take a nice couple walk while enjoying the sunrise light over the city”. And so it was, a long relaxed couple walk along the sea side, the river, the old town…
We guided Louis through half the city while he subtly guided us through the shoot, being intermittently a warm friend and a silent shadow capturing our intimate moments under his lens.
The best way to express the feeling we got from the experience is just to say that, after over five hours of shooting, talking and walking, we didn’t wanted to stop, we just kept asking, where to next?
Thank you for the great experience and the amazing captured moments. Give us a notice whenever you are back in Porto.
